Matt is a Californian who now lives in Turkey. He began his professional life as an import buyer, and since 2006 has been teaching companies how to connect with their customers and investors better. His clients work for companies like Turkcell, Microsoft, 3M, Citibank, and Reckitt Benckiser.
Matt studied Chinese history at the University of Chicago. He has traveled to 22 countries and lived on three different continents.
In 2013 he finished a 2,100 kilometer walk across Turkey, which he did primarily “because it needed to be done, and not a lot of people do it.” The walk took him 7-1/2 months. It was profiled on television stations and in magazines, and Matt wrote a book about it.
Alper developed a keen interest in presentations while working at Apple, realising that the simplicity of their products is also built into their presentations. But then he found himself almost drowning in the ocean of boring presentations he sat through as an employee in different companies. He got to thinking that something needed to be done, so he quit and established Sunum Ofisi, Doppler’s Turkish partner.
Currently, Sunum Ofisi’s clients include local and international companies like British American Tobacco, Experian, Novartis, Samsung, Turkcell and the United Nations.
Alper is a huge fan of Istanbul Toastmasters, a non-profit public speaking club, and served as the club president in 2012-2013. In fact, Alper gets so excited about the club that some people joke that he can’t talk to a new person for more than 30 seconds without inviting them to a meeting.
Alper graduated from Baruch College in New York with a degree in management information systems. He loves to cook (his specialty is oven-baked honey mustard salmon). Among his other hobbies are tennis, bowling, and jumping from known flying objects at 10,000 feet.
